Sandra Norrbin - Och Livet Stod Bredvid
Sandra Norrbin - Och Livet Stod Bredvid
In Chinese the word crisis is composed of two characters. One stands for danger and the other for opportunity. Norrbins art has always been characterized by this dualism, this oxymoron between two different trends, too large - too small, too much control - not enough control, the protected - the unprotected. The rescue boat, which desperately tries to develop and expand as a huge muscle within the exhibition room is never able to fully complete its forms, there is simply not enough space for it, and there is no space for the viewer. Neither the rescue boat, nor we are allowed to unfold in the gallery. The rescue boat is confined to the room, while we are banned from it. Gry Orfei Solbraa Oslo, May 2009 Sandra Norrbin (born 1976 in Vadstena, Sweden) is educated at the Art Academy in Trondheim, Norway. Och Livet Stod Bredvid is her second exhibition in the gallery. This summer she will participate at Tempo Skien, curated by Jan Christensen. Sandra Norrbin lives and works in Oslo, Norway. Sandra Norrbin wishes to thank Bruno K. Öijer The exhibition has been funded by the Norwegian Art Council and Vederlagsfondet. |
